The environmental classroom returns to the Biosphäre Potsdam. From now on, the pupils from the 3 – 7 grades can experience an exciting research tour through the tropics.

The pupils become acquainted with the characteristics of the tropical rain forest and its different layers, discovering the ecological backgrounds of this unique vegetation while deepening their biology and geography knowledge. Focal point of the lessons at the Biosphäre is to raise the awareness of the need to protect the rain forests and the long-term management of our natural resources.

During the two-and-a-half hour programme the pupils learn to define different fruits and their respective trees. The pupils especially enjoy the tasks of recognizing the morphological characteristic of the small species of the tropics (e.g. the difference between insects and arachnids).

School classes can register for the Environmental Classroom via e-mail, fax or phone. The registration should be made at least one week in advance of the chosen date.

Price per pupil 8,80 Euro incl. entrance fee. For groups over 10 pupils, one supervising teacher free of charge.
