TROPICAL WORLD

Right in the middle of the Biosphere Potsdam you can find the most beautiful tropical plants of our planet such as orchids, epyphites, palm trees and, and, and so much more! Trees growing up to 14 metres grow by the paths through the Biosphere. The most diverse choice of plants and trees are waiting for you to discover them.

The temperature varies from 23°C to 28°C at an air humidity of 80 % - a perpetual summer! Yet this heat magically draws the tropical storms.

The path is laid past the mangrove swamp through a palm grove always along a stream. Passing the shaman hut and through a weeping fig forest leading right into the bat’s cave…

Apart from the superb tropical plants there is also a waterfall, two lakes and a varied tropical fauna to be discovered. Free flying birds, terrariums with insects and reptiles, averies and an underwater world in the style of a historical U-boat with colourful tropical fish represent the tropical fauna.
